Note: - 1. As per the rule in force Malayalam Typewriting Lower is not compulsory for Ex-Servicemen who have completed normal tenure of service for applying to the post of Typist.  But if they are selected the Malayalam Typewriting Lower Qualification should be acquired before completing probation.

2. Service as Clerk/Writer in the defence force for not less than 15 years will be deemed as sufficient qualification for the post.  If selected they have to pass Malayalam Typewriting Lower in force completing probation.

3. Ex-servicemen with service as Clerks (General duties) Clerk (Staff duties) and Personal Assistants in the Army, Writer in the Navy and Clerks (General duties) in the Air Force who were under the category Class I or those who possess 15 years service in the Clerical Cadre in the defence force will be treated as eligible to apply for this post.

Should have completed 19 (Nineteen) years of age and should not have completed 35 (Thirty five) years of age as on 1.1.2004 with usual relaxation to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Communities.

1.Literacy in Malayalam, Tamil or Kannada and

2. Aptitude for Mechanical/Electrical repair works (to be proved at a practical test)
