The existing vacancies and the vacancies that may be reported to the Commission in writing during the period of currency of the Ranked List published by the Commission in response to this notification will be apportioned among (1) Open Market and (2) Graduate Head Constables, Police Constable and Officers of corresponding rank in Police of Vigilance Departments (notified in this Gazette) in accordance with the orders contained in the G.O (P) No.6/84/Home dated 18/1/94.  The relative seniority of the candidate in the above two categories will be decided as laid down in G.O(MS) 217/86 dated 10/10/1986.

Note:-

The list of selected candidates published by the Commission in response to this notification shall remain in force for a period of one year from the date of finalization of Rank List or after one month from the date of commencement of training in respect of the last batch selected from the list within a period of one year from the date of finalization of the Rank List whichever is later.  Candidates will be advised from the said list against the vacancies noted above and that may be reported to the Commission in writing during the period of currency of the list.

If sufficient number of suitable candidates are not available from the Departmental candidates to fill up the Quota reserved for them, the deficiency will be made good by selection from the open market.

Age Limit

:

Must have completed 20 (Twenty) years and must not have completed 30 (Thirty) years as on 1/1/2004. (for conditions regarding the age relaxation please see part (2) of the General conditions)

NOTE

Physically handicapped persons and women candidates are not eligible to apply in response to the notification.

Qualifications

:

 

a.

Must be a Graduate

Note:-In the case of SC/ST candidates if sufficient number of fully qualified candidates are not available under Category I, the applications of those who have passed Intermediate, Pre-University or Pre-degree Examinations will be considered only to fill up the quota reserved for them.

b)

Physical conditions:-

Must be physically fit and should possess the following minimum physical standards.

i)                    Height-167 cms (Taller persons will be given preference)

ii)                   Chest- 81 cms with minimum expansion of 5 cms.

Note:-

For Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates the minimum height and chest measurements shall be 160 cms and 76 cms respectively.

 

iii) Should be certified to possess the visual standards specified below without glasses.

Note:-

a)      Each eye must have a full field of vision.

c)      Candidates should be free from apparent physical defects like knock knee, flat feet, varicose veins, bowlegs deformed limbs, irregular and protruding teeth, defective speech and hearing etc.

IV)

Candidates should produce at the time of interview a Medical  Certificate in original  in the form prescribed hereunder, certifying to their physical fitness and eye sight without glasses. The Medical Certificate should be one obtained from a Medical Officer not below the rank of a Civil Surgeon.

Details regarding standards of vision should be clearly stated in the certificate as given above, and vague statements such as vision normal etc will not be accepted.  Specifications for each eye should be stated separately.  If the specifications are not as prescribed above, the Officer issuing the Certificate should state whether the candidate has got better standards of vision  or worse standards of vision as the case may be, than what is prescribed.  Otherwise the certificates will not be accepted.

   In addition to the qualification prescribe d above every candidate will be subjected to a physical efficiency test (the physical measurement of the candidates will be taken before conducting  Physical efficiency test and those who do not possess the prescribed physical measurement will not be permitted to participate in the Physical efficiency test).  Candidates must qualify in at least five out of the under mentioned eight events of one star standard, which is the minimum requirement for recruitment.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

             Those candidates selected will be on training for one year in the Department.  They will be paid a stipend at a rate of minimum of basic pay plus usual allowances attached to the post during the entire period of training.  The period of training will not be counted for probation.  On appointment they will be on probation for a period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.  Every person appointed to the post shall execute a bond before he joins for training to the effect that he shall serve the Department for a minimum period of five years.
