Note: 1.Selection will be made on Battallion wise basis and list of selected candidates will be sent to the Director General of Police. Candidates appointed to the Various Battallions will be allowed transfer only to the concerned District Armed Reserves as shown against the Battallions noted above.

Note: 2. Candidates are prohibited from applying to more than one Battallion in response to this notification.  Name of the Battallion chosen should be clearly shown on the top of the application should be sent to the concerned District Office of the Commission.

Separate Ranked List for each Battallion will be published.  The list of selected candidates published by the Comission in response to this notification shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year provided that the said list will continue to begin force till the expiry of three years whichever is earlier.  Candidates will be advised from the said list against the vacancies reported to the Commission and that may be reported in writing during the period of currency of the list.

Note:1. The upper age limit shall be relaxed upto 28 years for candidates belonging to other backward communities and upto 30 years for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes candidates.

2. Other conditions regarding age relaxation in Para 2 (2) to 2 (18) of the General conditions are not applicable to this selection.

3. Physically Handicapped candidates are not eligible to apply in response to this notification.

Qualifications:

a)      Educational- Pass in SSLC or its equivalent

NOTE:- In the case SC/ST candidates who have failed in the SSLC Examination shall also be considered if sufficiently number of qualified candidates are not available to fill up the quota of Women Police Constable reserved for SCs/STs.

b) Physical Qualifications- Height 152 Cms

Note:1. Minimum height shall be 150 cms for SC/ST candidates

         2.Eye Sight:- Must be certified to possess the visual standards specified below without glasses.

            The candidates should produce at the time of Physical Efficiency Test a Medical Certificate in original in the form prescribed, hereunder certifying to their physical fitness and eye sight without glasses.  The Medical Certificate should be obtained from a Medical Officer in Government service not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon.

Should have completed 18 (Eighteen) years of age and should not have completed 39 (Thirty nine) years of age as on 1.1.2003 with usual relaxation to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Communities.

Note:- For concessions allowed in upper age limit, subject to the condition that the maximum age limit shall in no case exceed 50 years, please  see para (2) of the General conditions under Part II of this notification.

7. Qualifications

A Degree in concerned subject and B.Ed/b.T/L.T conferred or recognized by the Universities in Kerala. (Concerned subjects are as specified in note (iii) below).

NOTE

(i)                  Diploma in Rural Service awarded by the National Council for Rural Higher Education will also be treated as equivalent to Degree for the above purpose.

(ii)                Post Graduates in the concerned subject with B.Ed/B.T/L.T are also eligible to apply for the post.

(iii)               The applicants should have taken Physics/Chemistry/Home Science as main subject for graduation.  Degree in Geology (main) with Physics and Chemistry as subsidiary subjects with B.Ed. Degree (Physical Science) can also be considered as an alternative qualification for the post. (GO(MS)No. 195/96/G.Edn. dated 02.07.96).

(iv)              Post title degree holders are not eligible to apply for the post of High School Assistant.

(v)                Degree in the concerned subject and B.Ed. means B.Ed. should also be in the concerned subject.

(vi)              Question papers for the written test if any, will be in Malayalam.  The candidates should answer to the questions are also in Malayalam.

8. Special Concessions regarding Appointment and Age Limit

(i)          

Preference will be given as laid down in GO (MS)No. 50/70/PD dated 12.02.70 and GO(MS)9/78/G.Edn. dated 21.07.78 to the Wives of Jawans in the matter of recruitment as Teachers, if they possess the prescribed qualifications.  Soldiers in active service and those working in Base establishment are included under the terms of Jawans.  Such candidates should obtain proper certificates from the Officer Commanding stating the name, Military Rank and Military Address of their husbands and produce the same as and when required by the Commission (GO (MS) No. 509/64/Edn. Dated 19.09.1964, GO (MS) No. 614/65/Edn. Dated 09.11.65 and GO (MS) No. 243/66/Edn. Dated 27.05.66)

(ii)        

Laboratory Attenders in the Departmental High School in the state who have rendered at least five years satisfactory service and who possess the prescribed qualification will be exempted from age limit.  They should produce proper certificates from the Head Master of the School specifying the date of commencements of their service and the total service put in by them as and when required by the Commission.  The candidates who claim exemption on this basis will not be given the benefit of communal reservation and will be considered only against vacancies to be filled up by open competition on the basis of merit alone (GO (MS) 315/62/Edn. Dated 14.05.1962)

(iii)       

NDS Instructors who have put in not les than one year service as NDS Instructors will be given age relaxation to the extent of their service as NDS Instructor subject to a maximum period of 5 years (GO (MS)156/67/Edn dated 10.04.67).  They should produce proper certificates from the authorities concerned as and when required by the Commission.

(iv)      

First Class Scouts and Guides will be given preference in the matter of appointment as Teachers (GO (MS) No. 122/75/G.Edn dated 27.05.75).

(v)        

Teachers of the Government Primary and Nursery Schools who are Graduates and are otherwise qualified will be exempted from upper age limit (GO (MS) No. 185/70/Edn dated 18.04.70 and GO (MS) No. 466/70/Edn dated 11.11.70).  They should produce proper certificates from authorities concerned, as and when required by the Commission.

Note

The candidates who claim concessions in lieu of any of the above reason should state the fact ion the relevant column of the side B and darken the bubble in the OMR sheet side A of application.  Otherwise the applications are liable to be rejected presuming that they are over aged candidates ( For other conditions regarding age relaxation please see para 2 of the General Conditions).  Upper age limit after allowing age relaxation as per rule should not exceed 50 years.

Note:-

1.The list of selected candidates published  by the Commission in pursuance of this notification  shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year, subject to the condition that the said list will continue to be in force till the publication of a new  Ranked List after the expiry of the minimum period of one year or till the expiry of z three years whichever is earlier.

 

2.(i)The provisional hands working in the above concern will be given age relaxation to the extent of their provisional service put in subject to a maximum of five years from the upper age limit provided they are within the prescribed age limit on the date of their first appointment in the above concern.  But the regular employees of the concern are not eligible for the above concession for further appointment.  The provisional hands should obtain a certificate showing the period of their provisional service in the concern and shall produce the same as and when required by the Commission.  It would also be clearly specified in the certificate that they were not working in the regular service of the concern.

        

(ii)The Retrenched employees of the Kerala Fisheries Corporation will be given age relaxation as stipulated in the G.O (Rt) No. 1942/84/PW. Dated 31/12/1984 to the extent of their service subject to the condition that the maximum age limit shall not exceed 50 years.  These candidates will also be given preference in the matter of recruitment among other candidates with equal marks.  Such candidates should obtain a certificate from the Managing Director, Kerala Fisheries Corporation Limited to prove their length of service in the Company and the date of retrenchment and produce the same as and when required by the Commission.

       

(iii)The Kerala  Public Service Commission shall have the power to cancel the advice for appointment of any candidates to the service of The Pharmaceutical Corporation (IM) Kerala Limited if it is subsequently found that such advice was made under some mistake.  On such cancellation the appointing authority shall terminate the service of candidate, provided that, the cancellation of advice for appointment by the Commission and subsequent termination of service of the candidate by the appointing authority shall be made with in the period of his/her probation or 240 days from the date of his/her joining duty whichever is earlier.
