1)      Degree in Electronics Engineering/Technology OR any other qualifications recognised by Government as equivalent thereto with not less than 60% marks in the qualifying examination.

2)      Eight years experience in Engineering Profession of which at least 3 Years should be teaching experience as Lecturer not below the Diploma Level in recognised/approved institution.

Note: - (1) Diploma in Electronics Engineering/Technology obtained after undergoing a regular course of study for not less than 3 years with 60% marks in the qualifying examinations and a pass in Section A & B of AMIE will be considered as equivalent to a degree in Engineering.

(2) In the case of first or second-class Post Graduate Degree Holders in Electronics Engineering/Technology the prescribed 60% marks in the concerned branch for the basic degree will not be insisted upon.

(3) Aggregate marks of all the years/semesters of the Engineering/Technology Course in which University Examinations are conducted shall be taken into account in calculating the 60% marks.

(4) Percentage of marks obtained for the above-mentioned examination and details of experiences should be furnished in the column prescribed for noting qualification in the application form.

1.Training: - Any person appointed to a post by Direct Recruitment shall undergo 6 months training in all branches of Forensic Science in the Forensic Science Laboratory.  Any person appointed to a post of Scientific Assistant by Direct Recruitment shall also undergo a training in that/those discipline(s) of Forensic Science which will be dealt with in the division(s)of Forensic Science Laboratory to which he/she will be appointed/transferred, in a Forensic Science Laboratory or in the NICFS, Government of India, New Delhi or similar Institution to be decided by the Government on the advice of the Director General of Police for a minimum period of six months or for such period/periods is required to complete the course/courses of training in the institution/institutions to which he/she is deputed.

2.  A trainee will be entitled to the following benefits namely:

1. During the period of training, he will be entitled to draw an amount equal to the minimum of the Scale of Pay of the post and allowances, which he would have drawn, but for the training.
2. He will be allowed TA for to and fro journey incidental to the training at the rates admissible under KSR.
3. He will be given compensatory allowance if any at the rates as may be specified by Government.

4.      The period of training and transit will be treated as on duty under Rule 12(7) iii Part I KSRs.

Probation: - Every person appointed to the post shall on completion of training, be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.

Test: - Every person appointed to the post shall within the period of probation pass the Account Test (Lower) or the Account Test for Executive Officers (Kerala) if he/she has not already passed the test.

Bond: - Every person appointed to the post shall execute a Bond in such a form as may be prescribed by the Government to served the State Government for a minimum period of 5 years after completion of training and in the event of his failure to serve the Government a sum of Rs.25, 000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand Only) as liquidated damages to the Government in addition to the actual cost of training assessed by the Accountant General, Kerala (AGE), Thiruvananthapuram.

a)      Essential: - Post Graduate Degree in Chemistry with not less than 50% marks from a recognised University.

b)      Preferential Qualifications:

1. M.Phil Degree in Chemistry from a recognised University.
2. 2 Years Research/Analytical Experience in Chemistry from a recognised institution.

Qualifications:

(1)   A Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering of the Government of Kerala or any Diploma declared equivalent thereto.

(2)   Two years experience in a reputed Automobile workshop in the case of Diploma Holders and one-year experience in the case of Degree Holders after the acquisition of the qualification referred to at (a) above.

(3)   Should hold a current Heady Duty Driving Licence.

Details: Regarding standards of vision should be clearly stated in the Certificate, as given above, and vague statements such as vision normal etc. will not be accepted.  Specification for each eye should be stated separately.  If the specifications are not as indicated above, the Officer issuing the Certificate should certify whether the candidate has got better standards of vision or worse standards of vision, as the case may be.  Otherwise the Certificate will not be accepted.  Applications with Defective Medical Certificates will be rejected.  Sports, Military Training, Memberships of N.C.C. etc. will be considered as additional qualification.  The candidates will be subjected to physical efficiency test.  They must qualify in at least five of the under mentioned eight events of one Star Standards Test.  The physical measurement of candidates will be taken before the physical efficiency test and those who do not possess the required physical measurements will not be permitted to attend the Physical Efficiency Test.

Conditions of Service:

      Candidates selected shall be on training for a period of 9 months in Police Training College, Thiruvananthapuram and Practical Training for 3 months in the concerned District Armed Reserve in which they are posted.  They will be paid a stipend of Rs.5500/- per month during the period of training.  On completion of the said training they will be posted as Reserve Sub Inspector in the Scale of Rs. 5500 – 9075 and they will be placed on probation.   The period of probation is two years on actual duty within a continuous period of three years.  The probation of directly recruited Reserve Sub Inspectors will be commenced only after completion of the practical training as prescribed in G.O. (Rt) No.573/78/Home dated 21.3.1978.  Every persons appointed to the post shall execute a bond before he joins for training to the effect that he shall serve the department for a minimum period of 5 years.
