Note:- The list of selected candidates published by the Commission in response to this notification shall remain  in force for a minimum period of one year provided and a that the said list will continue to be in force  till the publication of a new list after the expiry of the minimum period of one year or till the expiry of three years whichever is earlier.  Candidates will be advised from the said list against the vacancies noted above and that may be reported to the Commission in writing during the period of currency of the list.

Age Limit

Must have completed twenty 24 (Twenty four) years and must not have completed 40 (Forty) years as on 01.01.2005.

Qualifications

(i)   Post Graduate Degree (Medical) in the respective discipline from a recognised University. (viz. MD/MS/DNB)

(2)Permanent Registration under State/ Central Medical Registration Act.

In the absence of candidates with the qualification in item (1) above, the candidates with the following qualification will be considered for the posts in the respective categories with the scale of pay of Rs.8000-13500/- and designated as Lecturer

(i)   MBBS Degree from a recognized University

(ii) Permanent Registration under State/Central Medical Registration Act.

(iii) One Year House Surgency.

Note:- (1) Separate Ranked Lists will be prepared in respect of candidates with Post Graduate Degree and MBBS Qualification in every subjects noted above.  In case Post Graduates are not available for a subject, candidates with MBBS Degree will be considered with the designation of Lecturer on Rs.8000-13500.

(2) Candidates having Post Graduate Degree while submitting applications shall clearly indicate the name of Post as “Senior Lecturer on Rs.10000-15200” and those with MBBS Degree alone should indicate as “Lecturer on Rs.8000-13500” at the top of the SIDE B of the application and in the envelope.  Separate application should be sent in case candidates desire to apply to more than one subject.

(3) Provisional Registration with any Medical Council will not be accepted.

(4) Candidates who have secured Permanent Registration with other State/Central Medical Council will have to get themselves registered under the Travancore Cochin Medical Practitioners Act before they join duty in the Post.

(5) Candidates who are appointed in the post should serve for 4 (Four) years during the first 10 (Ten) years of their service (including the period of training) anywhere in India or in any Foreign Country under Defence Service or assignments connected with Defence.  This compulsory service is not applicable to those who have completed 45 (Forty Five) years of age.

  (2) House Surgeoncy is defined as training in a hospital having at least 100 beds, where separate Medical and Surgical Department function or in major Hospitals, like the Women and Children Hospital Egmore Madras or Training in Clinical subjects during post graduate studies.
  (3) For persons who were in defence service, the first one year of their defence service will be treated as House Surgeoncy

Note:

Personnel working in various Departments of Government and acquired MBBS Qualification while in service will be given exemption from upper age limit to the extent necessary for direct recruitment.  The maximum age limit shall in no case exceed 50 years

       (3)In the absence of persons with B.Ed Degree as specified in Items (1) and  any subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the  Universities in Kerala or qualification recognised as equivalent thereto   by any of the Universities in Kerala

 

(iii)  Must have passed the State Eligibility Test for the post of Higher   Secondary school Teacher conducted by Government of Kerala or by the  agency authorised by the State Government

NOTE:1

In the absence of B.Ed Degree  holders, candidates having Master’s Degree with not less than 50% marks and who have passed State Eligibility Test will be considered. Preference will be given to those who have acquired Ph.D Degree or M.Phil Degree or qualified at Junior Research Fellowship/National Eligibility Test. The teachers appointed under this provision will have to acquire B.Ed Degree at their own expense within 5 years from the date of entry in service.

Those persons who have passed the State Level Eligibility Test for the post of College Lecturers conducted by Government of Kerala are exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test for Higher Secondary School Teachers

2

Those persons who have passed the National Eligibility Test/Junior Research Fellowship shall be exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test.

3

Persons with Ph.D/M.Phil/M.Ed degree shall be exempted from passing the state Eligibility Test provided the M.Phil in the concerned subject should be one awarded by any of the Universities in Kerala or recognised as equivalent thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala

In the absence of the persons with B.Ed Degree as specified in item (1) and (2) above, persons with B.Ed degree in any subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification regonised as equivalent thereto a by any of the Universities in Kerala

 

III

Must have passed the State Eligibility Test for the post of Higher Secondary School Teachers conducted by Government of Kerala or by the Agency authorised by the State Government.

For selection to the post of Higher secondary school teacher in communicative English, preference will be given to those who have acquired post graduate Diploma (not below ‘B’ Grade) in Teaching of English from Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages or M.Phil.  in English Language  Teaching from a recognised University.  Higher Secondary School Teacher in English and Communicative English must be capable of handling both the subjects.

Persons who have acquired M.Ed in the subject concerned recognised by any University in Kerala are exempted from B.Ed qualification
 

EXEMPTIONS- Common to all subjects

 

1

Those persons who have passed the State Level Eligibility Test for post of College Lecturers conducted by Government of Kerala are exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test for Higher Secondary School Teachers  
 

2

Those persons who have passed the National Eligibility Test/Junior Research Fellowship shall be exempted fro passing the State Eligibility Test
