5. Method of appointment: Direct Recruitment (from among Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes only)NOTE : Applications received from candidates other than Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates will be rejected. 6. Age limit : Should have completed 22 (Twenty two) years and should not have completed 40 (Forty) years as on 01.01.2007 (No other age relaxation will be allowed)NOTE: In the absence of qualified candidates within the age limit the upper age limit shall be relaxed upto 50 years. But in no case the maximum age limit shall exceed 50 (Fifty) years.
7. Qualifications:
1. Master’s Degree in English or discipline with at least 55% marks or its equivalent and good academic records.2. M.Ed. Degree with knowledge of Special method of teaching the Subjects.
3. Must have passed a comprehensive test specifically conducted for the purpose by U.G.C. or any agency duly constituted by the state Government in the behalf. When qualifications are equal preference shall be given to candidates who possess adequate knowledge in Malayalam.8. Last Date for receipt of applications : 14-02-2007. Wednesday upto 5pm.
9. Application form: Candidates should apply in the new application form which is specially designed for processing through Optical Mark Reader (OMR) also. This new application form is a single sheet of paper printed on both sides to facilitate Computer processing also using the Optical Mark Reader. Side ‘A’ is the OMR sheet and side ‘B’ is the conventional application form. Candidates must fill up both sides of the application. Cost of the application form for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates is Rs.5/- (Rupees five only)
NOTE: (1) The application should be filled up in accordance with the directions contained in the information brochure supplied along with the application. No documents should be enclosed with the application form. Applications which are not in the aforesaid form and those which are not filled up in accordance with the instructions in the brochure will be summarily rejected. The application can be obtained from Post offices in Kerala and from various Offices of the Commission.
(2) Application should be submitted in the form devised and printed by the Kerala Public Service Commission and applications other wise submitted will be summarily rejected.
(3) Documents to prove qualifications, age , community etc.have to be produced as and when called for. No copies should be attached with the application.

7. Qualifications:
1. A Degree in Veterinary Science from a recognized University
2. Registration with the Kerala State Veterinary Council as envisaged in the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 (Central Act 52 of 1984)
3. Working knowledge in Malayalam.
Note:-1. Relaxation of qualification under item-3 shall be given to persons belonging to linguistic minorities in the state subject to the condition that they shall pass the language test in Malayalam as provided in clause ( a a a a) of Rule 10 of part II of the Kerala State and Subordinate Services Rule 1958.
Note:-2. Working knowledge in Malayalam will be assessed by the Commission during the Course of selection.
Training:- Candidates on appointment as Veterinary Surgeon shall undergo within the period of probation, the training course conducted by the Animal Husbandry Department and the period of such training shall be treated as duty for the purpose of probation.
