5. Method of appointment : Direct Recruitment (from among Latin Catholic Community)
NOTE:-Applications submitted by candidates belonging to other than Latin Community will be rejected. No rejection memo will be issued to them individually.
6. Age limit : Must have completed 18 (Eighteen) years of age and must not have Completed 44 (Forty Four) years of age as on 01.01.2007 (Including relaxation in Para 2(i) of General Conditions).

7. Qualifications:
1. MBBS
OR
(If suitable candidates are not available) LMP or LSMF or DMS2. One year House Surgency in an approved hospital or one year service as Tutor/Demonstrator in Medical College.
3. Permanent Registration in class A of Modern Medicine with Travancore Cochin Medical Council.
Note: (1) Persons who have registered themselves with other State/Central Medical Council may also apply but they will have to get themselves registered under Travancore Cochin Medical Practitioners Act before they join duty.
(2) House surgency defined as training in a hospital having at least 100 beds, where separate Medical and Surgical Department function or in Major hospitals like the women and Children Hospital, Egmore, Madras or Training in Clinical subjects during Post Graduate studies.(3) For persons who were in defence service, the first one year of their service will be treated as House Surgency
NOTE:-Personnel working in various departments of Government and acquired MBBS qualification while in service will be given exemption from upper age limit to the extent necessary for direct recruitment. The maximum age limit shall in no case exceed 50 years.

5. Method of appointment : Direct Recruitment (from among S.C, L.C and O.X Community candidates only).

7. Qualifications:-
1. Post Graduate Degree (Medical ) in the respective discipline from a recognised University. (Viz. MD/MS/DNB)2. Permanent Registration Under State/Central Medical Registration Act.
Note: 1. Provisional Registration with any Medical Council will not be accepted.
2. Candidates who have secured Permanent Registration with any other State/Central Medical Council will have to get themselves registered under the Travancore-Cochin Medical Practitioners Act before they join duty in the post.
3. Candidates who are appointed in the post should serve for 4 (four) years during the first 10 (Ten years of their service (including the period of Training) any where in India or in any foreign country under Defence Service or assignments connected with Defence. This compulsory Service is not applicable to those who have completed 45 (forty five) years of age.

Candidates who have passed M.Phil Degree by 31.12.1993 or have submitted Ph.D.Thesis to the University in the concerned subject on or before 31.12.2002 are exempted from appearing in the NET Examination. In case such candidates fail to obtain Ph.D. Degree, they shall have to pass the NET Examination (G.O(P) No. 123/2002/H.Edn. dated, 17.09.2003). |
