NOTE: In the absence of qualified candidates within the age limit the upper age limit shall be relaxed upto 50 years. But in no case the maximum age limit shall exceed 50 (Fifty) years.
7. Qualifications:
1. B.SC Degree in Mechanical Engineering of the Kerala University or its equivalent .
OR
2. B E Degree in Mechanical Engineering of the Madras University or its equivalent.
OR
3. Associate membership Diploma of the Institution of Engineers (India) in Mechanical Engineering or any other qualifications recognized as equivalent to a degree.
OR
4. Pass in Sections A and B of the Associate Membership Examination of the Institution of Engineers (India) in Mechanical Engineering.
5. Any other qualification recognized by the Government as equivalent to B.Sc Degree in Mechanical Engineering of the Kerala University.
Probation:
Every person appointed to any of the post shall from the date on which he joins duty be on probation for a total period of two years of duty within a continuous period of three years.
Liability to serve in the Defence Services:
Persons appointed to the post shall be liable, notwithstanding that at the time of requisition of their services, they are holding higher appointment, to serve for a minimum period of 4 years (including periods spent on training of any) in the Defence Services or on assignment relating to Defence efforts anywhere in India or abroad if so required. This liability to serve in the defence service will be limited to the first 10 years of service and will not be ordinarily apply to persons above 40 years of age.
