contrary to the above direction, and if he/she is selected, his/her name will
be removed from the Ranked List and disciplinary action will be taken against

5. Method of Appointment: For Ezhava,
Latin Catholic and Scheduled Caste reservation communities. Scheduled Tribe
candidates will be considered in the absence of SC candidates.
6. Age limit : Should have completed 18 (Eighteen) years and should not exceed 42 and 44 years of age as on 1.1.2007 for OBC and Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe communities respectively subject to the condition that the maximum age limit shall in no case exceed 50 years.(Including the relaxation as per para 2 (1) of General conditions)For concessions regarding other age relaxations please see para 2 of the general conditions except para 2(1)
7. Qualifications : (1) A Bachelors Degree or Post Graduate Degree in the concerned subject and B.Ed/B.T in the concerned subject both conferred or recognised by the Universities in KeralaNote:- (i) Diploma in Rural Service awarded by the National Council for Rural Higher Education will also be treated as equivalent to degree for the above purpose.
(ii) The applicants should have taken Physics or Chemistry or Home Science as main subjects for graduation/Post Graduation. Degree in Geology (Main) with Physics and Chemistry as subsidiary subjects with B.Ed Degee (Physical Science) can also be considered as an alternative qualification for the post (G.O.MS.No.195/96/G.Edn dated 02.07.1996.
(iii) Candidates must have sufficient knowledge of Kannada which will be tested at the time of interview.
(iv) The disciplines in which Degree, Post Graduate Degree and B.Ed Degrees were obtained should be mentioned in brackets in column 6 a of Side B of the application form. Post title degree holders are not eligible to apply for the post of H.S.A.(v) Those candidates who secured B.Ed/B.T Degrees from the Universities outside Kerala should note in the application form the number and date of relevant orders declaring the said Degree as equivalent to those prescribed for this selection. The copies of such order shall be produced before the Commission when it is called for.
8. Special Concessions Regarding Appointment and Age Limit :-
(i) Preference will be given as laid down in G.O(Ms)No.50/70/PD dated 12.2.1970 and G.O(Ms)No.9/78/G.Edn. dated 21.01.1978 to the Wives of Jawans in the matter of recruitment as Teachers, if they possess the prescribed qualifications. Soldiers in active service and those working in Base establishment are included under the terms of Jawans. Such candidates should obtain proper certificates from the officer commanding stating the name, Military rank and Military address of their husbands and produce the same as and when required by the Commission [(G.O (Ms) No.509/ 64/ Edn.dated 19.09.1964, G.O (Ms) No.614/ 65/ Edn.dated 09.11.1965 and G.O (Ms) No. 243/ 66/ Edn. dated 27.05.1966)].9. sheet of paper printed on both sides to facilitate computer processing also
using the Optical Mark Reader (OMR). Side ‘A’ is OMR date sheet and Side
‘B’ is the conventional application form. The candidates must darken the
bubbles in the side ‘A’ and fill up column in side ‘B’ of the application.
Candidates must fill up both sides of the application. Each application form
contains a unique eight digit barcode on side ‘A’. This barcode is unique
for each application. The candidates has to quote this number for further
communication. The cost of application form for SC/ST candidates is Rs.5/-
(Rupees five only). The application should be filled in accordance with the
directions contained in the information brochure supplied along with the application.

(iii) Candidates applying to the post should have sufficient knowledge of Kannada. If there is a written test for the post question paper shall be in Kannada and candidates should answer the questions in Kannada.
(iv) The disciplines in which Degree, Post Graduate Degree and B.Ed Degrees were obtained should be mentioned in brackets against column 6 a of Side B of the application form.

(iii) Teachers of the Government Primary and Nursery Schools who are Graduates and are otherwise qualified will be exempted from upper age limit (G.O.MS. No.185/70/Edn. Dated 18.04.70 and G.O.MS. No.466/70/Edn. Dated 11.11.70.) They should produce copies of the certificates from authorities concerned, along with the applications.
Note:- The candidates who claim concession in lieu of any of the above reason should state the fact in the relevant column of the Side B and darken the bubble in the OMR sheet Side A of application. 7. Qualifications:
1. General: Pass in SSLC or equivalent Qualifications specified in the General Rules.
2. Technical: (i) Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery Certificate (revised course of 18 months duration) issued by the Kerala Nurses and Midwifes Council
Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery Certificate/Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery Certificate (Revised Course) issued by an authority recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.
Note: -(i) Health workers Training Certificate issued by the Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council will also be accepted in lieu of the above technical qualification.
(ii) Regulation with the Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council
Note: - (1) In the absence of candidates possessing the General Qualification Viz, SSLC Pass, Candidates who have completed SSLC Course (SSLC failed candidates) will also be considered.
(2) Physically handicapped candidates are not eligible to apply for the post.
i. Concessions to physically handicapped candidates contemplated inPara 2 and 5 of the General Conditions are not applicable for selection to the post.
8. Application form:
The application form is single sheet of paper printed on both sides to facilitate computer processing also using the Optical Mark Reader (OMR). Side ‘A’ is OMR date sheet and Side ‘B’ is the conventional application form. The candidates must darken the bubbles in the side ‘A’ and fill up column in side ‘B’ of the application. Candidates must fill up both sides of the application. Each application form contains a unique eight-digit barcode on side ‘A’. This barcode is unique for each application. The candidates have to quote this number for further communication. The cost of application form is Rs.10/- (Rupees ten only). The application should be filled in accordance with the directions contained in the information brochure supplied along with the application. The application can be obtained from Post Offices in Kerala and Offices of the Commission.
Note: -1. Documents to prove, qualification, age and community etc have to be produced as and when called for. No copies of documents should be attached with the application.
b. Applications should be submitted in the form devised and printed by the KPSC and those applications submitted otherwise will be summarily rejected.

(3) Reservation community candidates should submit application for this post to the concerned district officer Kollam where the vacancy is existing for their respective community and should note the name of that district against the relevant column in side `B` of the application and darken the relevant bubble in side ‘A’ of the OMR sheet. (4) The selection in pursuance of the notification will be made on a revenue district basis, subject to the special conditions laid down in G.O.(Ms.) No. 154/71/PD., dated 27-5-1971. A candidate advised for appointment in one revenue district from the Ranked List prepared is not eligible for transfer to another district unless he completes five years continuous service from the date of commencement of service in the former district. Even if transfer is allowed after five years, it will be subject to the rules in G.O.(Ms.) No. 4/61/PD., dated 2-1-1961. Candidates already in Government service holding this post in any one district are prohibited from applying again for this post, but they can apply to higher posts when notified.
