Selection will be made on Battalion-wise basis. Candidates appointed to the various Battalions will be allowed transfer only to the concerned District Armed Reserves as shown against the Battalions noted above.
Note: Candidates are prohibited from applying to more than one Battalion in response to the notification. Name of the Battalion chosen should clearly shown on the top of the application form and application should be sent only to the District Office of the Commission to which applications are directed to be sent for each Battalion.
Separate ranked lists for each Battalion will be published. The Ranked List thus published shall ceased to be in force after one year from the date of finalization of the ranked list or after one month from the date of commencement of training in respect of the last batch advised from the ranked list within a period of one year from the date of finalization of the Ranked List which ever is later. Candidates will be advised from the said list against the vacancies that may be reported to the Commission in writing during the period of currency of the Ranked List.

6) Age Limit : Must have completed 18 (Eighteen) Years and must not have completed 25 (Twenty five) years on 1.1.2007.Note: (i) The upper age limit shall be relaxed up to 28 years for candidates belonging to Other Backward Communities up to 30 years for SC and ST and up to 40 years for Ex-Servicemen.
(ii) Conditions regarding age relaxation in Para (2) of the general conditions are not applicable to this selection.
(iii) Women and Physically Handicapped persons are not eligible to apply in response to this Notification.
7) Qualification:
(a) GENERAL
Pass in SSLC or its equivalent.
(b) PHYSICAL QUALIFICATION
(i) Height : 167 CM
(ii) Chest : 81 CM with a minimum expansion of of 5 CM
Note: Minimum Height and Chest measurement shall be 160 CMs and 76 CMs respectively for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes candidates. The Minimum Chest expansion of 5 CMs shall however be applicable for them also.(iii) Eye Sight : Must be certified to possess the visual standards specified below without glasses.

The physical measurement of candidates will however be taken at the time of physical efficiency test and those who do not possess the prescribed physical measurement at that time will not be admitted for the physical efficiency test.
The candidates should produce at the time of physical efficiency tests, a Medical Certificate in original in the form prescribed hereunder certifying to their physical fitness and eye sight without glasses. The Medical Certificate should be one obtained from a Medical Officer under the Government not below the rank of an Assistant Surgeon.

Note: Details regarding standards of vision should be clearly stated in the Certificate as given above and vague statement such as Vision ‘Normal’ etc will not be accepted. Specification for each eye should be stated separately. If the specifications are not as indicated above, the officers issuing the Certificate should certify whether the candidate has got better standards of vision or worse standard of vision as the case may be, otherwise the Certificate will not be accepted.
8) Application Form
The Application Form is a single sheet of paper specially designed for processing through Optimal Mark Reader (OMR) also. Candidates have to fill up both sides of the Application. Each Application Form contains a unique eight digit barcode on Side ‘A’. This barcode number is unique for each application. The candidate has to quote this number for further enquiries. The Application Forms will be available in the Post Offices inside the State and Offices of the Kerala Public Service Commission. The cost of Application Form is Rs.10/- (Rupees Ten only). Cost of Application Form for SC/ ST candidates of Kerala State is Rs.5/- (Rupees Five only). An information brochure will be supplied with the Application Form. Candidates should read the instructions carefully before filling up the Forms. Candidates should not enclose any documents along with the Application.
9) The applicant shall send his Application in the envelope supplied with the Application Form. Applications should be submitted in the form devised and printed by the Kerala Public Service Commission. Applications otherwise submitted will be summarily rejected.

A candidate advised for appointment in the Revenue District from the rankedList prepared is not eligible for transfer to another district unless he/she completes 5 years continuous service from the date of commencement of service in the former District.Even if transfer is allowed after 5 years, it will be subject to the rules in G.O.(MS)No.4/61/PD dated 2.1.1961. Candidates already in Government service holding this post in any one District are prohibited from applying again for this post, but they can apply to h higher posts when notified.

Note:- 1. In the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes, General Educational Qualification will be a pass in Std. VIII. The relaxation will be allowed only in the absence of fully Qualified Scheduled Tribe Candidates and to the extent necessary for filling up the Quota reserved for ST Candidates alone. In respect of SC and other Backward Classes, the General Educational Qualification will be relaxed as “Completed SSLC Course” (Failed Candidates are also eligible).
