This unit includes Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathtanamthitta and Alappuzha DistrictsThrissur Unit (anticipated vacancies)
This unit includes Thrissur, Eranakulam, Kottayam and Idukki Districts.
Kannur Unit: 4 (Four)
This unit includes Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikkode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod.Note-1: Separate Ranked List will be prepared for Thiruvananthapuram, Trissur and Kannur Unit. The Ranked Lists thus prepared and published by the Commision shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year, subject to the condition that the said list will continue to be in force till the publication of New List after the expiry of three years whichever is earlier. Candidates will be advised for appointment against the aforesaid vacancies and also against the vacancies if any, reported during the currency of the list.
2. Application should be sent to Thiruvananthapuram/ Trissur/ Kannur Units in response to this notification. Candidates should submit applications for this post to the District Officer, Thiruvananthapuram/ Trissur/ Kannur and should note the name of the Thiruvananthapuram/ Trissur/ Kannur Unit against the relevant column inside ‘B’and should darken the bubbles in column ‘A’ of the application. The address of the District Officer to which the applications are to be sent is furnished in column (10) of the notification.
3. The selection in pursuance of this notification will be made on a unit basis, subject to the special conditions laid down in GO (MS) NO: 92/80/HOME dated 24.09.1980. A candidate advised for appointment in one unit from the Ranked List prepared is not eligible for transfer to another unit unless he completes five years continuous service from the date of commencement of service in the former unit. Evenif transfer is allowed after five years, it will be subject to the rules in GO (MS) NO:4/61/PD dated 02.01.1961. But transfer within the same unit will be allowed within five years .Candidates already in Government Service holding this post in any one unit are prohibited from applying again for this post.
4. As the recruitment Female Warden will be on unitwise basis a candidate selected in Thiruvananthapuram/ Trissur/ Kannur unit is bound to serve in any of the institution under the jurisdiction of Thiruvananthapuram/ Trissur/ Kannur unit which includes Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Idukki Districts and Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikkode, Kannur, Wayanad, Kasaragod Districts.
5. Method of appointment : Direct recruitment (Only from women candidates)
6. Age limit : Should have completed 18 (Eighteen) years of age and should not have completed 35 (Thirty five) years of age as on 01.01. 2007 with usual relaxation to SC/ST and Other Backward Communities.
Note : For concessions allowed in upper age limit subject to the condition that the maximum age limit shall in no case exceed 50 years . Please see para (2) of the general conditions under part one of this notification.
7. Qualifications :
1. Must have passed SSLC or equivalent qualification.
2. Must be of atleast 150 cms in height .
3. Other conditions being equal HomeGuard volunteers who have completed the term of three years in that organization and who
have under gone trainingduring the period of tenure satisfactorily will be treated as having additional or desirable qualifications for recruitment to the post of Female Warden in the Jail Subordinate service
4. Eye sight : Must be certified to posses the visual standards specified below without glasses (Medical Certificate from a Medical Officer not below the rank of an Asst. Surgeon should be produced at the time of interview).

Note 1. Participation in Sports, Games, National Cadet Corps, Home Guards etc will be considered as desirable qualifications.2. Physically handicapped candidates are not eligible to apply for the post.
8. Application form :
The application form is a single sheet of paper specially designed for processing through Optical Mark Reader (OMR) also. Candidates have to fill up both sides of the application. Each application form contains a unique eight digit barcode on side A. This barcode number is unique for each application. The candidate has to quote this number for further enquiries.
The application forms will be available in the post offices inside the state and Offices of the Kerala Public Service Commission.
The cost of the application form is Rs. 10/- (Rupees ten only). The cost of the application form for SC/ST of Kerala State candidates is Rs.5/- (Rupees five only). An information brochure will be supplied with the application form. Candidates should read the instructions carefully before filling up the forms.
Note:1. Douments to prove educational qualifications, age and community etc has to be produced as and when called for. No Copies of documents should be attached with the application .
