5. Method of appointment : Direct Recruitment (from among Viswakarma Community candidates only).
Note: Application submitted by candidates other than Viswakarma community will be rejected. No rejection memo will be issued to them individually.
6. Age limit : Must have completed 24 years (Twenty Four)and must not have completed 43 years (Forty three years of age as on 01.01.2007. (including relaxation in Para 2(i) of General conditions.)

7. Qualifications:-
1. M.D (Pathology) degree from a recognised University.
OR
Diplomate of National Board (Pathology) issued by National Board of Examinations, New Delhi.
2. Permanent Registration Under State/Central Medical Registration Act.
Note: 1. Provisional Registration with any Medical Council will not be accepted.
2. Candidates who have secured Permanent Registration with any other State/Central Medical Council will have to get themselves registered under the Travancore-Cochin Medical Practitioners Act before they join duty in the post.
3. Candidates who are appointed in the post should serve for 4 (four) years during the first 10 (Ten years of their service (including the period of Training) any where in India or in any foreign country under Defence Service or assignments connected with Defence. This compulsory Service is not applicable to those who have completed 45 (forty five) years of age.
8. Application form:The application form is a single sheet of paper specially designed for processing through Optical Mark reader (O,M,R) also. Candidates have to fill up both sides of the application. Each application form contains a unique eight digit barcode on side ‘A’. This barcode number is unique for each application. The candidates has to quote this number for further enquiries.The application forms will be available in the Post Offices inside the State and Offices of the Kerala Public Service Commission.
Cost of application for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates of Kerala is Rs.5/- (Rupees Five only). An information brochure will be applied with the application form. Candidates should read the instructions carefully before filling up the form.
9. Self attested copies of documents to prove educational qualification, community, age etc. should be submitted along with the application. The provision in the general condition and in the brochure supplied along with the application will not be applied to this post.
10. Mode of sending applications:-
a. The applicants shall send his application in the cover supplied with the application form.
b. Applications should be submitted in the form devised and printed by the Kerala Public Service Commission and applications otherwise submitted will be summarily rejected.

8. Conditions of Service:- Those candidates selected will be on training for one years in the department. They will be paid a stipend at a rate of minimum of basic pay plus usual allowances attached to the post during the entire period of training. The period of training will not be counted for probation. On appointment they will be on probation for a period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years. Every person appointed to the post shall execute a bond before he joins for training to the effect that he shall serve the department for a minimum period of five years.
