Physical Measurement: Must not be less than 165 cms, in height, 81 cms, round the chest with a minimum expansion of 5 cms, provided that the minimum height in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST shall be 160 cms, only.  There will be no relaxation for chest measurement in the case of SC/ST candidates.

3. Eye Sight:Candidate should produce at the time of interview a Medical Certificate in original obtained from a Medical Officer not below the rank of Civil Surgeon Grade II in the form prescribed hereunder, certifying their Physical Fitness, Capacity for outdoor work and Eye sight etc.

4.         Candidates should produce a Medical Certificate issued by a Medical Officer not below the rank of a Civil Surgeon Grade II as to their physical fitness capacity for rough out door work and also of the visual standards, if they satisfy the physical measurements and come out successful in the Physical Efficiency Test.

Preferential:            Other conditions being equal, the Home Guard Volunteers, who have completed a tenure of 3 years in that organization and who have satisfactorily undergone training in Fire fighting, during the period of tenure, will be treated as having preferential qualification for recruitment to the post.

Probation:    Every person appointed to the post shall, from the date on which he joins duty, after he completes the training and examination be on probation for a total period of two years on duty, within a continuous period of three years.

Training:       (1)       Selected candidates should undergo a course of training for a period of 6 months in the state Fire Service Training School or in any other Institution as may be fixed, and pass the examination in the subjects prescribed for the course.

                        (2)       After the above training candidate should undergo six months prescribed training at a Fire Station pass in the examination in the subjects prescribed for the course.

Note:              A written and practical test will be conducted during the last fortnight of the period of training.  Those who fall to qualify in either one or both the tests will have their training extended for a further period of one month, at the end of which, they will be tested again in the subjects in which they failed.  Those who fail to qualify themselves in the re-test will be allowed a third chance by the Director of Fire Service to pass the course.

Bond:             Every person appointed to the post shall execute a bond binding himself to serve the force for the period of not less than 7 years and to pay to Government a sum of Rs.3000/- in case of failure to serve in the force for the said period.
