Age Limit

:

Must have completed 20 (twenty)years and must not have completed 38 (Thirty eight) years as on 01.01.2007 with usual relaxation to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Community candidates.

Note

:

Officers of Technical Education Department, Public Works Department, Industries Department and Town Planning Department, who possess the prescribed qualification for direct recruitment, are also eligible to apply.  They will be allowed age relaxation to the extent of their service in their respective departments.

Qualifications

:

1.Degree in Bio-Medical Engineering with not less than 60% marks in the qualifying examination.

:

Percentage of marks obtained for the above mentioned examination should be furnished in the column prescribed for noting qualification for the post in the application form.

 

LIABILITY TO SERVE IN THE DEFENCE SERVICES:-

             Persons appointed to the post shall be liable, not withstanding that at the time of requisition they are holding higher appointments, to serve for a minimum period for four years (including periods spent in training) in the Defence services or on assignments relating to Defence efforts anywhere in India or abroad, if so required.  The liability to serve in the Defence service will be limited to the first ten years of service and will not ordinarily apply to persons above 40 years of age.

a)

Essential:- Post Graduate Degree in Physics/Chemistry with not less than 50% marks from a recognized University.

   

b)

Preferential: 1. M.Phil Degree in Physics/Chemistry from a recognized University

     

                        2. Two years research/analytical experience in Physics/Chemistry from a recognized institution.

 

Note:- The experience qualification prescribed in (b) (2) above shall be one acquired after obtaining the basis essential Post Graduate qualification.

            Candidates must possess the visual standards specified below with/without glasses as certified by a Medical Officer of/or above the rank of an Assistant Surgeon.

Note

Each eye must have a full field of vision and colour blindness will be a disqualification.  Candidates should produce the Medical Certificate (in original) certifying to the visual standards specified above (including the field of vision and colour blindness) obtained from a Medical Officer of/or above the rank of an Assistant Surgeon.

 

1.

Training:- Any person appointed to the post by direct recruitment shall undergo 6 months training in all branches of Forensic Science in the Forensic Science Laboratory.  Any person appointed to a post of Scientific Assistant (Documents) by Direct Recruitment shall also undergo a training in that/ those discipline(s) of Forensic Science which will be dealt with in the division(s) of Forensic Science Laboratory to which he/she will be appointed/transferred, in a Forensic Science Laboratory or in the NICFS, Government of India, New Delhi or similar institution to be decided by the Government on the advice of the Director General of Police for a minimum period of six months or for such period/periods as required to complete the course/courses of training in the institution/institutions to which he/she is deputed.  Any person appointed to the post of Scientific Assistant (Documents) –BY DIRECT RECRUITMENT shall also undergo training in Forensic documents in addition to the basic training for six months in all branches of Forensic Science in a Forensic Science Laboratory or in the NICFS, Government of India, New Delhi or similar institutions to be decided by the Government on the advise of the Director General of Police for a minimum period of six months or for such periods as required to complete the course of training in the Institution to which he is deputed.

   

A training will be entitled to the following benefits during the period of training namely:

   

i) Person appointed by direct recruitment will be eligible to draw an amount equal to the minimum of the scale of pay of the post and the usual allowances.

   

ii) He will also be eligible for T.A for to and fro journeys and the journeys incidental to the training at the rates admissible to the Officers drawing pay at the minimum of the scale of pay of the post under KSRs.

   

iii) Any other allowances like compensatory allowance, warm clothing allowances etc. which Government may be General or Special Rules sanctioned to Officers deputed for traveling.

   

(iv) The period of training and transit will be in-service and treated as duty under Rule 12 (7) iii Part I KSRs

Test:- Every person appointed to the post shall within the period of probation pass the Account Test for Executive Officers or Account Test (Lower) if he or she has not already passed the Test.

Probation: Every person appointed to the post by direct recruitment shall on completion of training, be on probation for a total period of  two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.

Bond:- Every person appointed to the post shall execute a bond in such a form as may be prescribed by the Government to serve the State Government for a minimum period  of  five years after the completion of training. Failing which he will be liable to pay to the State Government a sum of Rs.25000/- (Rupees Twenty Five thousand only) as liquidated damages to the Government in addition to the actual cost of training assessed by the Accountant General, Kerala (A&E), Thiruvananthapuram
