Officers of the Technical Education Department, Public Works Department, Industries Department and Town Planning Department having the qualification prescribed for direct recruitment may also apply; and they will be allowed age relaxation to the extent of their service in those departments .such candidates should forward a service certificate (in original) showing the length of their service as and when required by the Commission.Those who are eligible for relaxation should furnish the details in the column 12 of the application form

7.  Qualifications     :

First class Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture Engineering/  Technology   OR      First class Master’s Degree in Architecture  Engineering/ Technology.

Note:  Percentage of marks obtained for the above mentioned examination should also be furnished in the column prescribed for noting qualification for the post in the application forms.  The term I class means “I Class with a minimum of 60% Aggregate Marks”(G.O(P) No.6/2003/H. Edn. Dated 24.1.2003)

Probation:  Those who are appointed to the post shall from the date on which they join duty be on probation for a period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.

Liability to serve in the Defence Services

            Persons appointed to the post shall be liable not withstanding that at the time of requisition they are holding higher appointments to serve for a minimum period of four years (including periods spent in training) in the Defence Services or an assignment relating to defence efforts anywhere in India or abroad if so required.  The liability to serve in the defence services will be limited to the first ten years of service and will not ordinarily apply to persons above 40 years of age.

            The application form which is a single sheet of paper specially designed for processing through Optical Mark Reader (OMR) also.        Candidates have to fill up both sides of the application.  Each application form contains a unique eight digit barcode on side ‘A’.  This barcode number is unique for each application.  The candidate has to quote this number for further enquiries.The application  forms will be available in  the Post Offices inside the State  and from the  Offices of the Kerala Public Service Commission.

The cost of application form is Rs.10/- (Rupees Ten only). Cost of application for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates of Kerala is Rs.5/- (Rupees Five only). An information brochure will be supplied with the application form.  Candidates should read the instructions carefully before filling up the form. 

9.           Self attested copies of documents to prove educational qualification, community, age etc. should be submitted along with the application.  The provision in the general conditions and in the brochure supplied along with the application will not be applicable to this post.

10. Mode of sending the applications:

Degree in anysubject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as  equivalent  thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala.

(iii)               Must have passed the State Eligibility Test for the post of             Higher Secondary School Teacher conducted by Government             of  Kerala or by the agency authorized by the State             Government.

Note: 1. In the absence of  BEd. Degree holders, candidates having Master’s Degree with not less than 50% marks and who have passed State Eligibility Test will be considered.  Preference will be given to those who have passed  State Eligibility Test will be considered .  Preference will be given to those who have acquired Ph.D  Degree or M.Phil Degree or qualified at Junior Research Fellowship/National Eligibility Test.  The teachers appointed under this provision will have to acquire BEd. Degree at their own expense within 5 years from the date of entry in service.

          2. Those who have passed Language Teachers Training Course are                 exempted from acquiring BEd. Qualification.         

3. Persons who have acquired MEd. In the subject concerned  recognized by any University in Kerala are exempted from BEd. Qualification.

                       MSc.Ed. in the concerned subject with not less than 50% marks from    any of the Regional Institutes of Education sponsored by the National    Council for Education Research and Training(NCERT).

(iii)  Must have passed the State Eligibility Test for the post of  Higher Secondary School Teacher conducted by Government of  Kerala or by the agency authorized by the State Government. Note: 1. Persons who have acquired Med. In the subject concerned  recognized by any University in Kerala are exempted from BEd.   Qualification.

(i)                  Master’s Degree in the concerned subject with not less than           50% marks  from any other Universities in Kerala or a Qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in the            respective subject by any  University in Kerala.           

(ii) 1. BEd. In the concerned subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a    qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by any University   in Kerala.                 

2. In the absence of persons with Bed. Degree in the concerned subject, Bed. Degree acquired in the concerned faculty as   specified in the Acts and statutes of any of the Universities   in Kerala.                  

3. In the absence of persons with BEd. Degree as specified in   Items (1) and (2) above, persons with BEd. Degree in any  subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of   the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as  equivalent  thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala.

(iv)              Must have passed the State Eligibility Test for the post of             Higher Secondary School Teacher conducted by Government             of  Kerala or by the agency authorized by the State             Government.Note: 1. In the absence of  BEd. Degree holders, candidates having Master’s Degree with not less than 50% marks and who have passed State Eligibility Test will be considered.    Preference will be given to those who have acquired Ph.D  Degree or M.Phil Degree or qualified at Junior Research Fellowship/National Eligibility Test.  The teachers appointed under this provision will have to acquire BEd. Degree at their own expense within 5 years from the date of entry in service.         

2. Persons who have acquired Med. In the subject concerned   recognized by any University in Kerala are exempted from BEd.   Qualification.

Exemptions: (Common for all subjects)

  1. Those persons who have passed the State Level Eligibility Test for the post of College Lecturers conducted by Government of Kerala are exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test for Higher Secondary School Teachers.
  2. Those persons who have passed the National EligibilityTest/Junior Research Fellowship shall be exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test.
  3. Persons with Ph.D/M.Phil/MEd. Degree shall be exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test provided the M.Phil in the concerned subject should be one awarded by any of the Universities in Kerala or recognized as equivalent thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala.
  4. The teachers who have completed ten years of approved teaching service at the High School level in the General Education Subordinate Service shall be exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test for Higher Secondary School Teacher.

Application form:

            The application form which is a single sheet of paper specially designed for processing through Optical Mark Reader (OMR) also.  Candidates have to fill up both sides of the application.  Each application form contains a unique eight digit barcode on side ‘A’.  This barcode number is unique for each application.  The candidate has to quote this number for further enquiries.

                 The application forms will be available in the Post Offices inside the State and Offices of the Kerala Public Service Commission.

            The cost of application form is Rs.10/- (Rupees Ten only).  Cost of application for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates of Kerala is Rs.5/- (Rupees Five only).  An information brochure will be supplied with the application form.  Candidates should read the instructions carefully before filling up the form. Candidates should enclose copy of documents toprove date of birth,qualification,community,etc along with the application.  The provision in the general condition and in the brochure supplied along with the application will not be applicable  in this case.

 
 

           The applicant shall send his application in the cover supplied with the application form.  Applications should be submitted  in the form devised and printed by the Kerala Public Service commission and applications otherwise submitted will be summarily rejected.

Mode of sending the applications:

(a)     The name of post, the Category Number and the Department of the respective post should be clearly noted at the top of the envelope.

(b)    The name and address of the candidate shall be entered at the bottom         left hand corner and the address to which applications are to be sent  at the bottom right had corner of the envelope.
