2. House Surgeoncy is defined as training in a hospital having at least 100 heds, where separate Medical and Surgical Department functions or in major hospitals, like the women and children hospital Egmore Madras or Training in Clinical subjects during post graduates studies.

3. For persons who were in defence service, the first one year of their defence service will be treated as House Surgeoncy.

Note: Personnel working in various departments of Government and acquired MBBS qualification while in service will be given exemption from upper age limit to the extent necessary for direct recruitment.  The maximum age limit shall in no case exceed 50 years.

Training:- (i)Any  person appointed to a post by Direct Recruitment shall undergo 6 months training in all branches of Forensic Science in the Forensic Science Laboratory. Any Person appointed to a  post of Scientific Assistant by Direct Recruitment shall also undergo a training  in that/those discipline (s) of Forensic Science which will be dealt with in the division/divisions of Forensic Science Laboratory to which he/she will be appointed/transferred in a Forensic Science Laboratory or in the  NICFS, Government of India, New Delhi or similar Institution to be decided by the Government on the advice of the Director General of Police for a minimum period of six months or for such period/periods is  required to complete the course/courses of training in the institution/institutions to which he/she is deputed.

(ii). A trainee will be entitled to the following benefits namely:

            (1)  During the period of training, he will be entitled to the draw an amount equal to the minimum of  scale of pay of the post  and allowances which he would have drawn but for the training.

            (2) He will be allowed T.A for to and fro journey incidental to the training at the rate admissible under Kerala Service Rules.

            (3) He will be given compensatory allowances  if any at the rates as may be specified by  Government.

            (4) The period of training and transit will be  treated as on duty under Rule 12 (7)iii,  Part I   Kerala Service Rules.

Probation:- Every person appointed to the post shall on completion of training, be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.

Test:- Every person appointed to the post shall within the period of probation pass the Account Test (Lower) or the Account Test for Executive Officers (Kerala) if he has not already passed the test.

Bond:- Every person appointed to the post shall execute a Bond in such a form as may be prescribed by the Government to Serve the State Government for a minimum period   of 5 years, after completion of training and in the event of his failure to serve the Government, he will be liable to pay a sum of Rs.25,000 (Rupees Twenty five Thousand only) as liquidated damages to the Government  in addition to the actual cost of training assessed by the Accountant General (A&E) Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram.
