The selection is pursuance of this notification will be made on a Revenue District basis subject to the special conditions laid down in  G.O.(MS)No. 154/71/PD dated 27.5.1971.  A candidate advised for appointment in the Revenue district from the ranked list prepared is not eligible for transfer to another district unless he/she complete 5 years continuous service from the date of commencement of service in the former district.  Even if transfer is allowed after 5  years continuous service from the date of commencement of service in the former district.  Even if transfer is allowed  after 5 years, it will be subject to the rules in G.O.(MS) No.4/61/PD dated 2-1-1961.  Candidates already in government service holding this post in any one district are prohibited from applying again for this post.

Qualifications

:

A degree in the concerned subject and B.Ed /B.T/L.T conferred or recognized by the Universities in Kerala (Concerned subjects for the degree are as specified in note (ii) below).  Candidates without training qualification can also apply for the post and they will be considered only in the absence of candidates with training qualification.  They will have to acquire Training qualification within a period of 3 years from the date of appointment (as per G.O. (MS) 63/82/G.Education. dated 3/5/1982).

Note:

(i)

Diploma in Rural  Service awarded by the National Council for Rural Higher Education will also be treated as equivalent to degree for the above purpose.

(ii)

The  applicants should have taken Mathematics or Statistics as main subject for graduation.  Graduates with Physics as main and Mathematics as subsidiary and Teaching of Mathematics as one of the subjects for B,Ed can also apply for the post.  Their applications will be considered only in the absence of graduates in Mathematics/Statistics.

(iii)

Post Graduates in the concerned subject with B.Ed /B.T/L.T are also eligible to apply for the post.

(iv)

Post Title Degree holders are not eligible to apply for the post of High School Assistant.

(v)

Degree in the concerned subject and B.Ed means B.Ed should also be in the concerned subject.

 SPECIAL CONCESSIONS REGARDING APPOINTMENT AND AGE LIMIT

Preference will be given as laid down in G.O(MS)No.50/70/PD dated 12.02.70 and G.O(MS)9/78/G.Edn. dated.21.01.78 to the wives of Jawans in the matter of recruitment as Teachers, if they possess the prescribed qualifications.  Soldiers in active service and those working in Base establishment are included under the terms of Jawans, Wives of Jawans should note on the top of Side B of the application form that they are wives of Jawans. Such candidates should produce proper certificates(True Copies) from the Officer commanding stating the name, Military rank and Military address of their husbands and produce the same as and when required by the Commission

Seats in the NCP course will be increase on adhoc basis to impart training to the candidates selected by the Kerala Public Service Commission.  During the training period, the minimum of pay of the post will paid, as salary to the trainees.

2        Lower Grade Certificate in Typewriting Malayalam(KGTE)

3        Lower Grade Certificate in Typewriting English(KGTE) and Computer Word Processing or its equivalent.                                    

Note

1.True Copies of Certificates obtained from Government will alone be accepted as proof of typewriting qualification.(Certificates  obtained from the Typewriting Institutions will not be accepted).

2.  Malayalam Typewriting is not compulsory for Ex-servicemen who have    completed normal tenure of service for applying to the post of Typist in Govt.Service.  But if they are selected, the above qualification should be acquired before completing probation.

3.  Service as Clerk/Writer in defence forces for not less than 15 years will be deemed as sufficient  qualification for the post.  If selected they have to pass Malayalam typewriting Lower before completing probation.  Subject to the conditions laid down in GO(P)No.139/77/GAD Dtd.11/5/77, linguistic minority candidates whose first language for the SSLC Examination is a language other than Malayalam may apply to this post even if they do not possess Malayalam Typewriting Lower qualification.

4.   Ex-servicemen with service as Clerks(General duties), Clerk(Staff duties) and Personal Assistants in the Army, Writers in the Navy and Clerks(General duties) in the Air Force, who were under the Category Class I or those who possess 15 years in the Clerical  Cadre in the Defence Forces will be treated as eligible to apply for the post (G.O.(p)No.143/86 Dated 30/4/86).

5.   A written test of 2 hours duration with maximum 100 marks will be held for the candidates who submit valid applications.

9.  Application Fee and Application Form:

      Candidates should apply in the new application form which is specially designed for processing through Optical Mark Reader(OMR) also.  The application form is a single sheet of paper printed on both sides to facilitate Computer processing also using the Optical Mark Reader.  Side A is the OMR data sheet and side B is the conventional application form.  Candidates must fill up both sides of the application form.  Candidate should indicate the eight digit barcode printed on side A of the application in all future correspondences.

          Cost of Application for SC/ST candidates is Rs.5/- (Rupees Five only).  The application should be filled up in accordance with the directions contained in the information brochure supplied along with the application.  Applications which are not in the prescribed form and those which are not filled up in accordance with the instructions in the brochure will be summarily rejected.  The applications can be obtained from Post Offices in Kerala and from various Offices of the Commission, except Thiruvananthapuram District Office.
